There are 35 species of dogs, wolves, coyotes, jackals and foxes in the world. They occur on all continents except for Antarctica, and occupy habitats from deserts to tundra. They are all carnivorous and adept runners ?? they move great distances in search of prey. Their generally medium size (1-80 kg) and ground dwelling behavior, makes them easy to detect with camera traps.
